Flower Friday: Tulips

Tulips

Today's featured flowers: Tulips!  Tulips are one of my favorite things about March and April!  They are very easy bulbs to grow & come in such a wide variety of colors!  We have red tulips, pink tulips, purple tulips, and cream-colored double tulips, and I love to walk around the neighborhood to see all the other shades of the rainbow!  They look so pretty planted in groups (or along with daffodils) and they make great cut flowers.  You can learn more about tulips at Backyard Gardener's tulip page or Garden Guide's tulip page.

Book update:  I finished reading Alexandra Bracken's Brightly Woven, Claudia Gray's Hourglass & Kimberly Derting's The Body Finder this week, and I am currently reading Suzanne Young's The Naughty List.  I will be driving up to a fun book signing event tomorrow afternoon, so stay tuned for details about that (and a giveaway post) early next week.

Tulips are my all-time favorite flower! A close second are irises. So pretty!

Candace - Seeing all the bulbs start to bloom makes me happy year after year! :)

Kayla - I love irises too! We transplanted a whole bunch of mixed irises last year & several of my favorites skipped a season of blooming. I really hope they bloom again this year.
