Scene of the Blog on Kittling: Books!

Want to take a peek at some of our bookshelves or hear about my favorite spot to read and blog?  The very sweet Cathy of Kittling: Books is featuring The Eager Readers in her awesome Scene of the Blog feature today!  Please stop by and say hello! :)

Hop over to Kittling: Books to see us on Scene of the Blog!

A brief health update:  Unfortunately, my condition has worsened in the week since my original health post (hence the lack of blog posts recently).  My neurologist and primary physician both believe that the symptoms I'm encountering now are due to an allergic reaction to one of the medications I was originally given to treat the pseudotumor by reducing the amount of cerebrospinal fluid my body produces.  I had to wean off that medication gradually, but I have now started a new course of treatment and should begin to see improvement as the old medicine works its way out of my system.  This past week felt like a 'one step forward, two steps back' situation, but I am optimistic about seeing some lovely leaps forward in the weeks to come.

Violet, I'm so sorry about your setback. So frustrating. Hope things will work out and your doctors can get you back on the road to good health.

May I say that your blog may be one of the most beautiful that I've ever seen. I love purple and wow!

I'll be back often.

Violet, I had no idea that you've been going through all this! When I hadn't seen you online for awhile, I was assuming you were having those dumb computer problems again.

I'm so sorry to hear that it's because of your health. It sounds like you've got a great team of doctors who are as committed to figuring out what's going on as you are.

I'm glad that this current setback appears to be the result of an allergic reaction. Hopefully, once that medication is out of your system and the new one has a chance to kick in, you'll be feeling better and get back on the road to normal. Paranormal is good, but just plain normal is even better.

Hearing about how comforting books have been to you and how sweet your husband has been (I knew he was a great guy) made me teary. You're lucky to have each other.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers, Vi. If I had healing powers, I'd conjure them up right now and will the universe to get rid of that pseudotumor.

Hugs and kisses. I wish we lived closer.

Oh Violet! I am with Laurie. Hugs to you; I'm so sorry to hear about what you've been going through. I hope the new medication does the job, and you are feeling better soon. Your husband; what an amazing guy. Thanks for sharing what's been going on. I loved your description of how reading aloud helped you so much. I truly hope this ordeal is over soon for you.
xo, Kathy
